By Car
From Milan: The distance from Milan to Menaggio is 80 km. Follow the indications for the motorway Laghi and then pick up the A9 Como – Chiasso. Take the last exit Lago di Como (the last exit for Italy before arriving in Switzerland). When you arrive at a circus, turn left and follow the indications for Menaggio.
From Lugano: The distance from Lugano to Menaggio is 27 km. Take the motorway exit Lugano Nord and follow the indications for Gandria – St. Moritz. Once crossed through Lugano, follow the indications for Menaggio. After having passed the border at Gandria, follow the 340 road to Menaggio.
N.B. There is a car ferry service in between Varenna and Menaggio and between Bellagio and Menaggio

From Italy
From Milan Central station by FS train to Como S. Giovanni station. From the square in front of the station about every hour bus line C10 of the ASF company leaves for Menaggio (32 km) Buy tickets before boarding the bus at the bar or newsagent inside the station.
Or: From Milan Central Station by FS train line direction Sondrio as far as Varenna-Esino. From Varenna station it’s 300 m down to the boat dock where you take either the boat or ferry across the lake to Menaggio. See the Navigazione Laghi website for the time tables.
Or: From Milano Cadorna station by FNME train to Como Lago. Attention: Due to road works the C10 bus line does not serve Como Lago station. 400 meters from the train station Como Lago there is the boat dock from where tour boats and hydrofoils leave for Menaggio.

From Malpensa Airport
By rental car:
The distance from Malpensa airport to Menaggio is 82 km. From the airport take the SS 336 in the direction of A8 Milano Varese / A9 Como – Chiasso. Close to Busto Arsizio take the A8 direction Varese – Gravellona Toce and then immediately take the A36 in the direction of A9 Como – Chiasso. The A36 pedemontana motorway must be payed on-line. Then pick up the A9 Como – Chiasso. Take the exit Lago di Como (the last exit for Italy before arriving in Switzerland). When you arrive at a circus, turn left and follow the indications for Menaggio road number SS 340.
By train from Malpensa Airport:
From Malpensa airport from both terminal 1 and terminal 2 you take the Malpensa express as far as Saronno. Here you change and take the train to Como Lago station.. For the train times you can consult the Trenord timetable You arrive at the station Como Lago. Attention: Due to road works the C10 bus line does not serve Como Lago station. 400 meters from the train station Como Lago there is the boat dock from where tour boats and hydrofoils leave for Menaggio.. From Milan Bergamo
From Airport Orio al Serio by car to Menaggio
The distance from the airport Bergamo Orio al Serio to Menaggio is approx. 125 km. Follow the motorway A4 direction Milano. From Milano follow the A9 Laghi in direction Como – Chiasso. Take the exit Lago di Como (the last exit before the Swiss border) and at the circus follow the indications for Menaggio.
